Lang published 25 different African stories in his Fairy Book series, with illustrations by Henry Justice Ford; more about Ford.
In the Orange Fairy Book, published in 1906, there are 8 different African folktales. The series about the jackal — Adventures of a Jackal, Adventures of Younger Son of Jackal, Adventures of Jackal's Eldest Son — does not have illustrations, but the other 5 stories do have illustrations: The Story of the Hero Makoma, The Magic Mirror, How Isuro the Rabbit Tricked Gudu, The Clever Cat, and Rover of the Plain.
