African Folktales at Internet Archive: Week 11

And here we are... the last day of July! I am really glad I've had this project to keep me grounded and focused, slowly but surely adding one book every day. And I still have so many books that I've bookmarked and will keep on sharing as August begins. You can see the previous weekly round-ups with these links: May - June - July.

This week, the theme was anthologies that bring together stories from different parts of Africa:

African Folktales at Internet Archive: Week 10

Here's the round-up for Week 10 as we get closer and closer to August! This week the focus was stories from central Africa... and I haven't decided yet on the focus for Week 11. I'll see what inspires me tomorrow! Meanwhile, here's a round-up of all the books from Week 10, plus the past round-ups: May - June -July.

African Folktales at Internet Archive: Week 9

It's kind of hard to believe this is already the end of Week 9 of this project (which means it is Week 9 of my retirement, since I started doing this right after I retired)... so far, so good! This week the focus was stories from southern Africa, and I haven't done a week focused on central Africa yet, so that will be next week! Meanwhile, here's a round-up of all the books from Week 9, plus the past round-ups: May - June - July.

African Folktales at Internet Archive: Week 8

This week was a really fun one for me with the focus on tricksters from western African stories: Tortoise, Spider, and Rabbit too! The round-up is below, and you can also see the round-ups by month: May - June - July.

I'll be back next week with a focus on books from southern Africa. :-)

African Folktales at Internet Archive: Week 7

It's a new month, and time for a new round-up; you can see the earlier round-ups from May and June too. I started this project in mid-May after my last day of classes, and it's been a great example of slowly but surely as there are now over 50 books in the slideshow!

This week the focus was on stories from eastern Africa:
