African Folktales at Internet Archive: Week 18

The weeks are really flying: this is the round-up for Week 18 already! The focus this past week was stories from eastern Africa. I haven't decided on the focus for next week; maybe back to southern Africa? I'll figure that out tomorrow!

I also want to add that I had a fantastic time meeting with some people from Internet Archive on Friday: getting to learn more about some of the behind-the-scenes was really great (details here), and something new that I learned was the important role that Better World Books has played in the story of the controlled digital lending project; you can find out more about Better World Books here.

So, if you are shopping for used books, do shop from them directly instead of going through Amazon so that your money will be supporting their work instead of going to Amazon; here's a link to their website: Better World Books. The name of their company isn't just marcomm hype: they really are doing great work in partnership with Internet Archive.

This week's books below, and you can see previous round-ups month by month here: May - June - July - August - September. Happy Weekend, everybody!
