African Folktales at Internet Archive: Week 33

Well, Week 33 here at the blog is over... and 2021 is over too. Working on this project has helped make this impossible year easier to bear, and I'm glad to be able to carry on writing about beautiful books at the Internet Archive in the year 2022. I hope everyone else will enjoy a good year... or at least a better year... ahead!

Here's a round-up of the books and posts from this past week, and I'll be back tomorrow to start a new week for the new year! Meanwhile, you can also browse all the round-ups from the year gone by: May - June - July - August - September - October - November - December. (I started in May right after I retired from my job teaching... and now I am finally getting in touch with my inner librarian as you can see...).

Here are the books:

African Folktales at Internet Archive: Week 32

I'll be otherwise occupied Christmas Day, so I'm doing the schedule a bit differently this week, with the round-up today, Friday, instead of Saturday as usual. You'll find this week's books below, and here's the month-by-month list: May - June - July - August - September - October - November - December. Plus I added a tab in the horizontal navigation across the top of the blog with a link that leads to all the round-up posts together. :-)

So, wishing happy holidays to all of you who celebrate; I'll be back on Sunday, and in the meantime... here are this week's books, all just a click away at the Internet Archive:

African Folktales at Internet Archive: Week 31

For a lot of people, next week is a holiday week, and I hope it might be a week of relaxation... and reading... and storytelling! Earlier today I watched a fantastic presentation by storyteller Len Cabral (see this post) who, at the end of the talk, has some wonderful suggestions for holiday storytelling; here's the video:

Below you'll find a round-up of this week's books, plus I also did an update on the spreadsheet and on the new "reader's guide" project. For past round-ups, here's the month-by-month list: May - June - July - August - September - October - November - December.

African Folktales at Internet Archive: Week 29

Wrapping up week 29 of African story books at Internet Archive, and beginning the month of December too! You can see the wrap-up posts for previous months with these links: May - June - July - August - September - October - November.

I am pleased to announce that there are now over 250 books that have been featured in these blog posts! You can see the complete list of books here: Featured Books.

In addition to the books I profiled this week, I also wrote a post with the latest update to the spreadsheet listing individual stories, not just books, linked to their Internet Archive pages: over 5700 stories now linked! Here's that post: African Tales Spreadsheet.
